Cindy Ewers
Hello there, I am Ms. E and I am happy to be back at Beaumont after starting my class in the middle of last year. I teach a blend of 6th, 7th and 8th graders in an Intensive Skills Academic center. Previously, I was a learning center teacher at both the elementary and middle school levels in PPS.
I am a Northwest native who grew up in Washington and then first lived in Portland during the 1980's while I earned my bachelor's degree. After living in San Francisco and working as a computer operator and programmer, I moved to New York and worked on Wall Street. Happily, I returned to Portland in 2000 and spent several years relaxing and focusing on my family before embarking on my new career in teaching. I have two sons who both attend Sunnyside Environmental School - Emery is entering 2nd grade and Jasper is beginning 7th grade.
I look forward to working with my returning students and getting to know my new ones as we develop a caring classroom community. We are going to have a great time this year learning together. In addition to myself, there are three wonderful paraprofessionals helping in the classroom: Mr. Okerlund, Mr. Williams and Mr. Kloucek.
