8th grade Creative Writing
OVERVIEW
Many students arrive at the door of my classroom complaining that they can't write, don't have anything to write about, or just simply hate writing.It is the goal of this class to provide instruction and activities that bring the joy back to writing. Students will be able to find and express their own voice and here about the lives and experiences of others through their carefully-chosen words.
With this in mind, my creative writing class is currently moving through a unit on poetry. We have studied the work of published authors as well as the work of students from my previous classes. Students are writing a number of their own poems and will choose one to publish in our class anthology.
