Below are links to projects students at Beach created. They are broken into various Applications that have been taught, learned, and then connected into current classroom concepts. Most projects are related directly to what is being taught in the student's academic classroom studies. I work closely with the district standards in regards to core curriculum and tediously plan projects that connect to state expectations.

Middle School Flash CS3 Elective

Flash CS3 is a multimedia platform used to add animation, video, and interactivity to web pages. Flash is frequently used for advertisements and games. Below are links to Webpages students made using Google Sites.

First students converted class created Flash SWF files into WMV files. Next, after converting these files into movies, students uploaded them to a private channel on You Tube which applied a URL link. Finally, Students used these links to get their Flash Videos into their Google Webpage. Many, many technology skills were used to create the following sites.

Movie Maker XP

The students in the 5th and 6th grade have put together all of their photo editing skills, audio recording, research skills and more. They dove head first into Movie Maker. (XP)

Many of the movies have embedded video that was legally taken from a teacher site I provided. All projects were tied into content being taught in their classrooms. Click   Tech.Rubric below to see how students are graded:

POWERPOINT NEEDED TO VIEW THESE FILES. MANY POWERPOINTS HAVE A WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER VIDEO EMBEDDED AS WELL. WE NOTICED THE SOUNDS ATTACHED AND THE MOVIES EMBEDDED WILL NOT PLAY, SO WE ARE ATTACHING THE MOVIES SEPARATELY.

8th Graders met twice a month with a local senior getting to know all about them, restoring old photos, and building a multimedia presentation that they passed on to their new senior friend!

A presentation will occur on June the, 2010 at Assumption Village. Students will be honoring the life of the senior they worked with this year.

Each Senior will get a cd with the presentation on it. Family and friends have been invited by each the grader via invitations made in Publisher.

Students at Beach begin learning Microsoft Office 2003© Products in 3rd grade. By 5th grade, we hope to have them introduced, and in some cases, master all the main programs in Office.
