Ya hemos pasado la mitad del año escolar y los requerimientos académicos se harán más complejos. Comenzaremos a prepararnos para las pruebas del estado y los conceptos matemáticos serán basados en geometría, fracciones y multiplicación aplicadas a problemas de la vida real. En ciencias sociales estudiaremos la ciudad de Portland y su historia. En composición hemos estado trabajando en ensayos de cinco párrafos y hemos cubierto narrativas personales y artículos informativos.
Celebraremos Martin Luther King Jr. Y el mes de Historia de los Negros con estudios de personas importantes afro-americanos en Portland.
El 21 de febrero empezaremos la primera ronda de pruebas del estado con lectura. Es importante que los alumnos asistan a la escuela en forma regular ya que la prueba sera durante varias jornadas.
We have reached the half mark of this school year and the academic demands will be more complex. We will begin to prepare for the State Standardized Tests and the math concepts will be focusing on geometry, fractions and multiplication applied to real life situations. In social studies we will study the city of Portland and it’s history. In writing we have been working on a five paragraph essay and we have written personal narratives and informational articles.
To celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Black History month, we will focus on studying influential African-Americans in Portland history.
We will begin the state test on February 21st with reading. It is important that students attend school regularly since the testing will happen during several days.
