How you can help (coming)

Hobo Stove (due April 11!!!)

Dear parents,

HOBO STOVES & BURNERS FOR OUR OREGON TRAIL FIELD TRIP

Would you please help your child make a hobo stove?  Each hobo stove requires 1 tuna can and (1) 1-¼ inch wide corrugated cardboard strip. The directions on how to make both of them are attached to this note.

Please return the hobo stove and the burner by Monday, APRIL 11.

Thank you for all your support,

Mrs. McArthur

Oregon Trail Overnight Information

Dear Immersion Parents,

I am happy to inform you that I have received the dates for the Oregon Trail Overnight trip.  Our class will be making the overnight trip on April 14 & 15, 2011.

Please send your contribution to the classroom in an envelope with your child’s name on it (make checks payable to Atkinson Elementary).  If you are able, please include additional funds for families who are unable to contribute financially (for information on cost see Maestra McArthur).

If you would like to be a volunteer on the overnight trip, please let me know as soon as possible.  Male volunteers will be needed!  All volunteers will need to have passed a criminal background check before going on the trip.  If you are interested in volunteering, please verify with Jeannie in the office whether or not you have already passed this check and/or it is still valid.  There are a limited number of volunteer opportunities for the trip, which will be filled on a first come first serve basis.  Parents are included in the cost, so there is no additional fee for each volunteer.

The Oregon Trail Overnight will be held at the Nate Creek site at Camp Adams.  The Nate Creek at Camp Adams is a beautiful site located in Mollala, Oregon. You can see pictures and find more information at www.campadams.org.

Thank you for supporting your child in this learning experience!

Sincerely,

Martha McArthur

Estimados Padres

Sinceramente,

Sra. McArthur
