Unlike most classes, your child's grade will be based on daily performance. They will be given a score anywhere from 0-4. Each point corresponds to the student’s “Level of Awareness”. A description each level is explained below.
LEVELS OF AWARENESS
Level 0 . . . . . . . . . . Grade: F
-Disruptive, unsafe, or disrespectful
Level 1 . . . . . . . . . . Grade: D
-Little to no effort
-Doesn’t try
-Seldom takes a turn
Level 2 . . . . . . . . . . Grade: C
-Often on task / may need reminders
-Participates with minimal to good effort
-Practice may not be performed for improvement
Level 3 J . . . . . . . . Grade: B/A
-Consistently on task
-Participates with consistently good effort
-Participates with the intent to improve
-Accepts responsibility for own learning
Level 4 J. . . . . . . . Grade: A/A+
-Includes all Level 3 attributes
-Helps others in several ways:
teaching a skill, explaining a game strategy,
working with special needs students, helping
set-up, etc.
*****It should be noted that my students are required to make up points for their absences. The student documenting or logging physical activity outside the school day can make up the points from absences. It can range from writing down practices times, dates and duration of his/her athletic sports teams to something as simple as keeping the dates and times of walking the family pet.
