We are nearly finished with our first math unit, Connecting Mathematical Topics. There will be a test on Monday, October 10 over the various key concepts reviewed in unit one. Our next unit is on multi-digit multiplication and division. Continued memorization of basic facts will help students grasp new concepts.
We are continuing to read the novel Gossamer in class. With this novel we have examined the physical traits of the main character Littlest One. We have also started discussions about her character traits and will continue those conversations throughout the novel. We will use this information to inform the content of a brief written character analysis. We are also rereading portions of the novel pulling out details related to the setting to then create a visual representation of it in class.
Students are working in small groups with students from Ms. Mann's class to develop a presentation to teach the classes about an assigned planet. As a class we are learning about the moon: it's phases and effect on the earth. Soon we will be learning about the sun.
