Ainsworth Elementary Library Procedures:
Students visit the library every other week with class, checking out "good fit" books for independent reading and "any kind" books too! These books are due back each library, to check out new ones.
Books are not counted as overdue until gone more than two weeks, and then they can be checked out again as needed. Once overdue, we do not check out new books to a student until the overdue book is found and returned or checked out again. Lost books can be paid for and then if the book is found, you will be reimbursed.
Students are also welcome to check in and out books after school on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Automatic notices are sent as reminders to our families' email accounts. There are two kinds of notices: courtesy notices that tell when your child's books will be due, and overdue notices. They look a lot alike! But if you scroll down, the overdue one includes the word "overdue" and gives the due date. Please feel free to contact me if we need to work together to solve the mystery of a missing book!
