<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span face="arial" style="font-family: arial;">A Little About Mrs. Johnson</span></span></strong></p>
<p><span face="arial" style="font-family: arial;">Mrs. Johnson was born and raised in Portland, Oregon.&nbsp; She attended Portland Public Schools throughout her youth; Vernon Elementary, Binnsmead Middle School and Jefferson &amp; Marshall High School.&nbsp; After high school, she attended numerous colleges in Arkansas, Nebraska and Oregon.&nbsp; She graduated from Portland State University with her bachelors in Social Sciences in 2005.&nbsp; In 2006, she entered and completed the University of Portland Masters of Education program; student teaching in Kindergarten and 5th grade at James John Elementary School.&nbsp; After graduation she worked as the animal field instructor at Sandy River Outdoor School, taught 4th grade at St. Ignatius School, Technology at Rigler School, 5th grade on the English Side of Spanish Immersion, 1st grade in the English Program and now, 4th grade English Program.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</span>&nbsp;</p>

        Dear Parents,<br />
        I hope you are as excited as I am to have more time to spend with your child(ren) this summer!&nbsp; The last week's beautiful weather got us all in nervous anticipation for the final bell of the year.&nbsp; As we enter the last week, please remind your 4th graders that we still have much work to do in the classroom.&nbsp; That being said, we are having quite a bit of fun also, and hope you can come;<br />

        Volunteer Brunch - An event to honor all the volunteers who have donated their time and/or talent(s) to help Ainsworth this year. Anything from running a copy to running a math group, and everything in between :)<br />

        School-wide Dance - Our student council raises funds every year to put on an end-of-the- year school-wide party on the back field, with a DJ pumping out great songs that make you want to move :)<br />

        Friday, June 14, 2013&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 9:00-10:00<br />
        5th grade vs. Staff Annual Kickball game - Weather permitting, any willing 5th grader plays against the Ainsworth staff.&nbsp; Come join your 4th graders as they cheer from the sidelines.&nbsp; Who will they root for students or teachers?!?<br />

        City of Ember - As you all know, we have been working on this play in our classroom for a long time, and are very excited to have a very special private performance for families iIn respect of our actors, please plan on using non-flash photography only, thank you).<br />

    <title><![CDATA[Spelling and Homework]]></title>

        <p>&nbsp;In 4th grade, you should expect approximately 40 minutes of homework a night.
        </p>
        <p></p>
        <p>On nights when we don't have a specific math assignment, students are to practice basic math facts for 10 minutes.&nbsp; This may be accomplished by writing out problems, finding a worksheet online to print, using flashcards, or playing one of the many games on <a target="_blank" href="http://guest.portaportal.com/lmo_pdx">Mrs. Johnson's portaportal</a>.&nbsp; A parent must note that this work has been done, if tangible proof (problems in their journal/a worksheet) are not available.</p>
