Before & After School Care

Making a difference in the lives of children & families since 1970

Founded in 1970, Peninsula Children’s Center is the oldest and largest child care provider in North Portland. A nonprofit organization certified by the Oregon Child Care Division, Peninsula has the capacity to serve 240 children ages 6-weeks to 12-years-old. We are based in a community financed, state-of-the-art child care center, with four before- and after-school programs located in area elementary schools.

Our program includes partnerships and special projects that enrich our care and benefit the children and families we serve. Partnerships and projects include a music & art program; putting high school student volunteers in the classrooms; and participation in a Morrison Child & Family Services’ program that includes ongoing, free parenting classes.

In addition to quality care and education, Peninsula is committed to helping families connect with and navigate the other services and agencies available for assistance.

Peninsula’s tuition structure is a sliding-scale based on family size and gross monthly income. We also accept tuition reimbursements from the Oregon Department of Human Services and other subsidy programs.
