Community partnerships
- ACT partners with PCC to allow students to take college classes on the Cascade Campus.
Student learning environment
- The entire community is engaged to create and sustain an
environment where our purpose is to know each student well
and create a personalized learning path that inspires their
success in high school and beyond.
Curriculum components
- ACT offers a complete college prep curriculum as well as Advanced Placement courses in Biology, Chemistry, Government, Economics, Literature, and Language. ACT also partners with PCC to allow students to take college classes on the Cascade Campus.
- ACT offers music classes where aspiring students can learn
guitar, keyboards, bass, and drums. Students will have the
opportunity to record and produce compositions in one of
our two on site recording studios equipped with Pro Tools,
an industry standard recording program used in modern
recording studios and major motion pictures. - Theatre was reintroduced in 2007-2008 to rave reviews. The Theatre program continues to expand with the addition of classes in Theatre Fundamentals, Shakespeare Studies, World Theatre, Children\'s Theatre, Improvisation, and Technical Theatre. - ACT offers advanced multimedia classes in digital
animation, digital film making, web design, and advanced
computers using industry standard software such as Flash,
iMovie, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Technology is
integrated into all subject
areas.
- ACT offers a wide range of visual arts: basic design,
drawing/painting, ceramics, graphics, and photography.
Staff
- Working artists and technology professionals are on staff,
enjoy a student/computer ratio of 2:1, and are constantly
building partnerships with community organizations to make
the Arts, Communications, and Technology school uniquely
effective.
Parent and family support
- At ACT, community involvement includes: parents
volunteering on site; parents, students, and community
members actively participating in our Site Council;
students inform administration through student council,
leadership class, and Site Council on decisions about the
direction of our school.
