Before and after school programs
- Competitive interscholastic athletics; award-winning performing arts; student government; co-curricular clubs (i.e., mock trials, foreign languages, Honor Society, literary magazine, Model United Nations, Constitution Team).

Parent and family support

Special programs and features
- English as a Second Language (ESL) and Special Education services; teen parenting and alcohol and drug support services; Multnomah County Teen Health Clinic for primary health care.
- Library Media Center with exceptional print collection and an online computer information system for student and faculty research.
- Student scores on national and state tests (PSAT, SAT, National Latin and Mathematics exams, Science Bowl, etc.) are among the highest for Portland Public Schools.
- 72 percent of Grant students indicate they will enroll in a four-year college and 18 percent in a two-year college.
- College credit available for seniors in English, foreign languages, social studies and accounting.
- Honors programs in English.
- Advanced Placement classes in American history, European history, government, economics, English, biology, chemistry, physics, calculus, art history and art studio.
- In 2006, Grant became the home of ACCESS students (Talented and Gifted) from Sabin School.
- Grant is home of the district's Japanese Immersion Program.
Students involved in the program have been together since
kindergarten and will continue Japanese studies one to two
periods daily. - Institute for Science and Mathematics has received regional and national commendations for progress toward national standards.
