Hayhurst School is "Twice As Right"! Hayhurst School houses the K-5 Hayhurst Neighborhood School and the K-8 Odyssey Program at Hayhurst. The Hayhurst staff views learning as a partnership between a student, family and community. Hayhurst Neighborhood School teachers integrate core subjects, utilizing the district-adopted curriculum at each grade level. These include Reading First, Investigations and Foss Science kits providing students with a balanced education. Students receive weekly instruction in arts and technology as a way of engaging them and reinforcing their learning. Hayhurst Neighborhood teachers work collegially to ensure the academic success of each student. The Odyssey Program at Hayhurst is a PPS focus option program. It is a historical theme-based program grounded in rich cultural knowledge. The program emphasizes problem-solving, critical thinking, team building and student leadership. Teachers team-teach in multi-age classroom.

Childcare: 7:00 am to 8:00 am and 2:15 pm to 6:00 pm provided by Vermont Hills Family Life
