Islamic beliefs

In Islam there is only one God and that God is named Allah, and, just like the Christian God, he is the source of all creations. The God of Islam is the same God as that of Judaism and Christianity. In Islam there are five pillars. They are Shahada, the profession of faith in uniqueness of Allah. Salat, formal worship or prayer. Zakat, the giving of alms for the poor. Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca, which every Muslims should undertake at least once in their lifetime. The Swam, fasting during Ramadan. All men and women in the Islamic religion are treated the same. That's relating to the personal conduct. The men and women are trustworthy, fair, righteous and well-mannered.
The word Islam comes from the word submission & peace. A Muslim (a person who practices the religion of Islam) is a person who can find their inner peace.
Muslims are often called "the Arabs" because Islam began on the Arabian Peninsula.
The religion consists of obeying God/Allah and his messenger. For these God will have mercy on them when they go up to heaven.
Women & men don't automatically become Muslim by birth or marriage. Men and women have to work hard to become a Muslim, and follow all of the laws for becoming a Muslim.
Islam is the world's second largest religion; the first is Christianity and the second is Buddhism. If you had all the Muslims in the world get together, all the Islamic people would take up 36 countries. A rough estimate is about one billion people.
Muslims have duties that include praying five times a day, paying taxes, fasting during the month of Ramadan, and a pilgrimage to Mecca. These are 4 of the five pillars.
In the Islamic faith no woman can have an abortion. The only time a woman can have an abortion is if the baby has major birth defects. If a woman decides that she wants to have an abortion, the man and the woman would have to pay money.
