Prakrits (natural languages) develop among the common people of India. Natural languages have flourished since 1800 BCE and are now known mainly from Buddhist and Jain literature of the time.

Early Smartism develops from the Vedic brahmin tradition. A liberal sect, smartism flourishes alongside the Saiva, Vaishnaya, and Shakta sect.

Lifetime of Mahavira Vardhamara. The 24th Tirthankarais a revered renaissance Jain master whose teachings emphasized strict codes of vegetarianism, nonviolence, and asceticism. There is some confusion over the date of his birth; his life may have been forty years earlier.
551-478 BCE
Lifetime of Confucius; the founder of Confucianism taught social ethics that became the foundation of Chinese education religion and ruling class philosophy.
500 BCE
Around the lifetime of Kapila, founder of Sankhya Darshana, one of six classical systems of Hindu philosophy.

People started calling the Hindu code of beliefs Hinduism, but Hindu people still call it the Sanatana Dharma

Shirdi Sai Baba, a saint to both Hindu and Muslim people died.

Archeologists started digging up the cities Harpa and Mohenjo-Daro; they were located on the Indus River, and were very old civilizations.
1947
Britain separated India into India and Pakistan, two separate Hindu and Muslim countries. Hindus and Muslims had nonviolently fought to take away "British rule," they wanted "self rule."

In Kashmir Muslims are persecuting Hindus; they are fighting over Kashmir because both claim it. When Britain left after separating India and Pakistan they did not help resolve the issues with the Muslims and the Hindus.
