History of Meek ProTech
General Information
Joseph L. Meek Professional Technical High School, previously called Vocational Village High School, has been providing Portland youth with vocational and academic
programs since its founding in 1968. We offer opportunities for students seeking
an alternative to the traditional high school model.
Joseph L. Meek Professional Technical High School offers a smaller learning environment to students
to be successful in school. An accredited high school in the Portland
Public Schools district, we provide 16 to 21 year old students an opportunity
to earn a high school diploma. The schools offers professional-technical programs in
Arts and Communication, Manufacturing Technology,
Business & Management, Mechanical
Technology, and Natural Resources.
Meek ProTech provides a small-school atmosphere for students previously unsuccessful in
traditional high school programs. All students participate in a program emphasizing
high school graduation and professional-technical training, preparing them for post-secondary
education, advanced certification, and employment success.
