Laurelhurst Student Art Dressed for Snow and Ready to Go 2nd Grade - Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration African American History Month Celebration 4th & 2nd Grades - Friendship Chain in Honor of MLK Jr.'s Birthday 4th Grade - Hoping for Snow Dressed for Snow and Ready to Go The girls and boys in Mrs. Heinrich's second grade were Dressed for Snow and Ready To Go! In December 2000 each student made a model of themselves dressed in winter attire and hoped that it would bring snow. Unfortunately, we only saw a few flakes but we were toasty warm for the rest of the winter. Return to top of this page Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration During March 2001 Mrs. Heinrich's second graders studied about the life of Martin Luther King Jr. We celebrated with writing poems, taking pictures, and mixing paint to match all our beautiful colors. Return to top of this page African American History Celebration In celebration of African American History Month, students at Laurelhurst answered factual questions to expand their knowledge of history. Students who answered questions correctly were recognized at weekly all-student meetings.
