Many of the world's greatest thinkers, artists, scientists and humanitarians have received their ideas and inspirations from the natural world. To give children and in particular urban children an opportunity to learn from the natural world, we must provide them with real life experiences including playing in, working in and learning in the natural world. Students, applying to Sunnyside Environmental School, should understand that part of their week will be spent learning outdoors. Sunnyside Environmental School is also committed to creating a strong community where all people take collective responsibility for the good of all its members.
