We are blasting off on a mission of great importance to Portland Public Schools. Join us as we leave our manual processes behind and begin to use space age technology.

Who's Who - The Odyssey Project Team consists of representative Portland Public School employees, Information Technology staff and employees of Carrera-MAXIMUS, our implementation partner.

In some ways, everyone that works at Portland Public Schools is a part of the Odyssey team. The project will affect anyone who is responsible for conserving District funds, orders books and supplies, or receives a paycheck. It is important that you know what is happening with the Odyssey project, and who to contact on the project. Find out whom you know that is working on the project, and talk to them about your ideas, questions and concerns.

Project Plan and Schedule - The plan identifies what tasks need to be performed. Because of the complexity of this project, there are hundreds of tasks that must be accomplished, with the right result at a specific time. The schedule lays out when these tasks will be accomplished. Our plan helps us ensure the right work is getting done, and that it is being done right. In the following attachments, detail tasks rollup into summary tasks. Summary task are shown in CAPITALS, so that they stand out.

Implementation Process - Implementing the PeopleSoft software includes several major steps, including determining the FIT between the software and our business processes, developing a PROTOTYPE environment, and exploiting TECHNOLOGY TOOLS to save time and money. It also includes conducting TRAINING sessions, ensuring the proper INTEGRATION of all the applications, and placing the software into PRODUCTION.
