Board observes moment of silence for Clackamas and Newtown victims

During today's meeting, the school board observed a moment of silence for the victims of violence at Clackamas Town Center mall and Sandy Hook Elementary in Newton, Conn.
Prior to the moment of silence, school board co-chair Martin Gonzalez said, “We must strive to get back to the notion of community building and personal care in our homes, places of work, and community so no one feels alienated, disenfranchised, or angry alone, and we can see the signs of problems early and intervene with care before it becomes tragic news of carnage.”
