Connecticut tragedy serves as reminder
Student and staff safety is a priority every day for us. Incidents like this remind us how important it has been for all of PPS’ principals and teachers to have trained for emergencies of all kinds and to continue to regularly practice their emergency team response with students.
We work proactively with Portland Police to share information and we support our schools with training and tools so they are equipped to handle a variety of emergency situations. Events like these are also an important reminder for families to make sure they have provided schools with updated contact information.
