Llewellyn/Duniway boundary change approved

The Portland School Board, on Monday Nov. 26, approved a boundary adjustment to balance enrollment between Llewellyn and Duniway elementary schools. – moving the South-of-Tacoma area from Llewellyn to Duniway.

Beginning in Fall 2013 new students who live in the boundary change area and don’t have siblings at Llewellyn will be assigned to Duniway.

Last spring, staff proposed two different scenarios for boundary change. Comments were gathered through a public forum last May as well as feedback sheets submitted through the summer and fall. This input, along with new enrollment data, was used to narrow the choices down to a single recommendation for the school board to consider.
