Work begins on Marysville School rebuild

May 29, 2012

Trading high-fives at Marysville K-8 School. Students will move to their neighborhood school by January.

Repairs starting in June should have fire-damaged Marysville K-8 School ready for students by the new year.

PPS will launch the rebuilding effort with a groundbreaking ceremony from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 2, at Marysville, 7733 S.E. Raymond St.

The goal is to have students and staff members back in their neighborhood school by January 2013.

Marysville students and staff members moved to the former Rose City Park School after a fire Nov. 10, 2009. Insurance covered property lost in the fire and will cover the cost to repair the building to its pre-fire condition.
