Fifteen musicians rank among Oregon’s best

Strong performances earned 15 Portland Public Schools students fifth place or better at the state solo music championships.
High school students competed in 25 events at the OSAA Solo Music Championships at Lewis & Clark College on April 28.
PPS first place finishers include Kristin Chesnutt (violin), Maia Hoffman (viola) and Siena Miller (mezzo voice) of Wilson High School, and Nick Ivers (trombone) of Jefferson High School – Middle College for Advanced Studies.
In addition, PPS students who placed fifth or better are:
