Six students who competed in a Portland Public Schools spelling contest have qualified for the countywide competition in May.
The SpellDown contest on April 25 and April 26 offered students a chance to test their oral and written spelling skills.
Winners of the written portion of the contest will compete at the Multnomah County SpellDown at 1 p.m. May 8 at the Multnomah Education Service District, 11611 N.E. Ainsworth Circle.
