Zeke Smith to join Portland Public Schools as Chief of Staff

Zeke has served the Portland Schools Foundation as its Director of Community Engagement since 2005. In that role he has worked closely with Portland Public Schools as a partner. He developed and implemented Connected X 25, designed to connect every Portland teen and young adult to school, work and citizenship by age 25 through a coalition of more than 35 public and private organizations.
Zeke’s prior career also was in youth development and education, working for the Boys & Girls Clubs, Youth Employment Institute, and as a program manager for Worksystems, Inc.
Zeke is familiar with Portland Public Schools as a parent, as well; his two children attend Rigler Elementary School in Northeast Portland.
