High School Team
Superintendent Carole Smith appointed Toni Hunter assistant superintendent for high schools as of July 1, 2008. Hunter has more than 30 years of experience in Portland Public Schools, and most recently served as the principal of Grant High School for the last 11 years. She began her career as a teacher and went on to work as vice principal for alternative programs serving delinquent youth. She also was a vice principal at Benson, Lincoln and Madison high schools. In her new role, Hunter also will serve as area director for Jefferson High School.
