Join us for Celebrate! Portland Public Schools on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at the Portland Expo Center. Celebrate! Portland Public Schools is back for the fifth consecutive year and promises to deliver moving student performances, important school and community resource information and a collection of student artwork. Join parents, teachers, community members, and district staff in showcasing the quality programs Portland Public Schools has to offer.

Volunteer at Celebrate!
Celebrate! PPS is looking for parent/community volunteers to help onsite at the event. Volunteers are needed for three-hour shifts to help with event check-in and information, setting up school booths, chaperoning student performances to the main stage, and sign placement and distribution. Parents or community members interested in volunteering should contact Summer Lewis.

Main Stage Performance Schedule
Find out the latest information on how to enroll and transfer within Portland Public Schools. Transfer specialists will be available to answer your questions. A wide variety of handouts and informational materials will be available to help answer your questions and ease the decision-making process.
Curious about kindergarten? Visit the Kindergarten Resource Room at Celebrate! This is your chance to talk to kindergarten teachers and get your questions answered. The Kindergarten Resource Room will have examples of student work and activities for pre-k students to prepare them for kindergarten, including kindergarten writing activities and teacher led "Read Alouds." Parents will have a chance to peruse the newly adopted curriculum materials and take home fun, hands-on curriculum exercises to do with their young student. Make sure to bring your four year-olds with you!
OSFSS strives to eliminate educational barriers, increase classroom readiness, and enable full engagement in learning by supporting students, families, and school staff. The OSFSS will have resources and information for families and students including; student services, Title I, Title VII-Indian Education, Homeless Education, Migrant Education, school health services, school based health clinics and SUN Schools.
View art exhibits from Jackson Middle School, Gray Middle School, Madison High School, Renaissance Arts Academy at Marshall, Lane Middle School, Jefferson High School, Cleveland High School, Humboldt, Vernon and Binnsmead.
Celebrate will have Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese, Russian, Somali and Hmong interpreters from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.
Transportation and Parking Information
Free parking will be available at Portland International Raceway with shuttle buses provided to the Portland Expo entrance. The MAX Light Rail yellow line runs directly to the Expo, for more information on MAX including schedules, please visit the TriMet site, http://trimet.org/max/index.htm. Attendees can park in the Expo parking lot for a $7 fee.
Shuttle buses will be running every half-hour from area high schools to the Expo Center. Shuttle buses will pick up at Cleveland, Madison, Jefferson, Marshall, Roosevelt and Wilson High Schools. The shuttle buses will run from 1 p.m. thru 4 p.m. The last bus will leave the Expo Center at 5 p.m.
Childcare will be provided for children four years and older.
