Public Meeting Notice

Board of Education

Board Auditorium
Portland Public Schools Blanchard Education Service Center
Regular Meeting 501 N. Dixon Street

May 21, 2001

NOTE: Those wishing to speak before the School Board, should sign the request sheet prior to the start of the regular meeting. No addditional speakers will be accetped after the sign-in sheet is removed but are welcome to sign up for the next meeting. While the School Board wants to hear from the public, it would be appreciated if comments are kept to approximately three minutes.

Citizen comment related to an agenda item will be heard immediately following staff presentation on that issue. Citizen comment on all other matters will be heard during the “remaining comment” time.

May 21, 2001 Note: Extensive citizen comment has already been heard at prior Board meetings on the proposed amendments to the Military Recruitment Ban Policy and the Environmentally Sustainable Business Practices. Therefore, tonight, up to 15 minutes of citizen comment on each of these two issues will be allotted for citizen comment. The 15 minutes reserved tonight for citizen comment on the proposed amendments to the Military Recruitment Ban Policy have already been filled by citizens who contacted the Board office prior to this evening’s meeting. The Board always welcomes written comments from the public.

In an effort to ensure orderly conduct and ensure an opportunity for all citizens to offer comment to the Board, the Board has compiled in written form its Rules of Conduct.

This meeting may be taped and televised by the media.
