Independent Evaluators

Each of the eight Striving Readers projects that were funded across the country are required by the U.S. Department of Education to hire an outside evaluator to implement an experimental design for the intensive intervention group (students in the Xtreme Reading classes). RMC Research is designated as the outside evaluator for the PPS Striving Readers project. RMC Research is designing the evaluation of the project’s implementation and outcomes, conducting the random assignment of Tier II students, and collecting data through classroom observations, student and teacher surveys, and record review (district attendance and achievement data). Fidelity of implementation is also being measured for the whole school (Tier 1) as to whether teachers are using Content Enhancement Routines consistent with expectations.
