Intensive Skills Centers
This program is for students with learning needs due to cognitive deficits that impact their participation in the general curriculum. The program provides specially designed instruction, as appropriate, in the areas of functional and basic academic skills, social skills, and communication skills. Older students receive instruction in vocational and community skills. Students learn literacy and math skills at their instructional level. Related services are provided consistent with each student’s IEP. Students have opportunities to participate in general education experiences.
This program is for students with moderate to severe learning needs due to cognitive deficits that severely impact their participation in the general curriculum. The program provides specially designed instruction, as appropriate, in the areas of basic life routines, social skills, basic communication skills and functional academics. Students learn skills and strategies to increase their participation in self-care and school and community activities. Related services, including assistive technology and nursing, are integrated throughout the school day, consistent with each student’s IEP. Students have opportunities to participate in general education experiences.
