Post-High School Services
Students attending the Community Transition Program work with Vocational Transition Specialists (VTS), their teachers and families to:
- Engage in prevocational instruction and practice
- Tour work sites and post-secondary programs
- Assess their vocational skills and discover their areas of interest
- Participate in work opportunities which accommodate their interests, skills, and abilities
- Become connected with appropriate community agencies and adult services
Community Work Sites
The Community Transition Program provides supervised work opportunities at approximately fifteen work sites at agencies, non-profits an businesses throughout the city. These work sites are supervised by a Portland Public Schools paraeducator with oversight and direction from a Vocational Transition Specialist. Current supervised work sites include:
- Loaves and Fishes
- Coffee Cart at BESC
- Good Samaritan Hospital
- Value Village
- The Greenhouse at the CTC campus
- American Red Cross
- Portland Habilitation Center
- The Dollar Tree
- Master Gardener at the Learning Garden Lab
- Solar Waffle Works
