Services for Adult Transition Students

 

 

 

Advocacy

 

Oregon Rise strives to provide services that meet the needs of parents with children and youth with a

disability.

Portland Public Schools IEP Partners PPS parents who are trained and available to assist parents with students who receive Special Education services and help them navigate the system.

 

Safety Zone a personal safety and police awareness curriculum for adults with developmental disabilities.

 

Disablity Compass  a one stop site providing information and direction to services, products, and special health care resources for people with disabilities in Oregon, their families and those who support them.

 

Disability Rights Oregon an independent non-profit organization which provides legal advocacy services, including benefits planning, for people with disabilities anywhere in Oregon.

 

Autism Society of Oregon a statewide support group and the state chapter of the Autism Society of America.

 

SEPTAP   Special Education PTA of Portland - A network of parents, educators and community members working together to improve the education and well being of students with disabilities in their schools, homes and communities.

 

ARC of Multnomah-Clackamas County provides services, information, referral and advocacy information for people with disabilities.  

 

Emerging Leaders Northwest  is a community based information and guidance center for people with disabilities ages 13-30, offering workshops, trainings, resources and mentorship.

 

Friends First  program gives students with disabilities and those without, the chance to form a club, establish friendships and work collaboratively on a service project of their choice to benefit their school or community.

 

Independent Living Resources  promotes the philosophy of Independent Living by creating opportunities, encouraging choices, advancing equal access, and furthering the level of independence for all people with disabilities.

 

Self- Advocates as Leaders  an organization of people with developmental disabilities interested in becoming strong leaders, training and developing leadership skills, and becoming equal partners in policy and legislation that affect our lives.

Employment

 

Vocational Rehabilitation employment services for people with disabilities.

 

Ticket to Work Program  Under the Ticket Program, the Social Security Administration provides disability beneficiaries with a Ticket they may use to obtain the services and jobs they need from a universe of organizations called Employment Networks (ENs).

 

Portland Habilitation Center (PHC)  provides training and employment for people with disabilities

 

DePaul Project Search serves people with disablities with through innovative workforce and career development.

 

DePaul Industries comprehensive work outsourcing specialists that provide training and supported employment

 

Goodwill Job Connections offers a free job search and referral program to assist in searching for a job outside of Goodwill that fits your needs and abilities.

 

Job Corps free education and training program that helps young people learn a career, earn a high school diploma or GED, and find and keep a good job.

 

Job Developers Network a centralized network of employment specialists that offer a variety of services to job seekers and employers thorugh multiple resources and organizations

 Full Life serves adults with disabilities in Portland OR. They offer a recreation or ATE program, and vocational program including job development.

 

Tri-met RIdeWise a free program that teaches older adults and people with disabilities to travel independently and safely on public transportation.

 

PASS Parents for Alternate Support Solutions-give the clients a chance to keep and improve their life skills, socialize and interact with their peers and participate in the community around them.

 

Art from the Heart an art center and gallery for adults with developmental disabilities.

 

Project Grow a space for community collaboration where people can engage in conversation and action to advocate for human rights, the value of art in society, urban farming, and the pursuit of passions.

 

On the Move provides activities that are healthful and environmentally responsible for individuals with disabilities.

 

Independent Living Program (The Inn) Provides youth, ages 14-21, skill training, housing assistance, growth and development opportunities through educational, employment and community resources.
