General Information
Portland Public Schools is a service organization, with more than 6,000 employees committed to educating the community’s children. Personnel costs account for more than three-quarters of the PPS budget. As the school district develops labor agreements with employee groups, whether unionized or not, PPS strives to offer compensation that is competitive in the market to attract and retain a talented and dedicated workforce.
This Web page includes data and documents with information both about district-wide issues and, following the links below, about individual employee groups. Before posting on the web, all information has been shared directly with employee union leaders, at the bargaining table as appropriate.
