Intercom
Description:
Intercom service allows you to call another extension and talk to the called party over their speaker phone without them needing to answer the phone. A tone will be sent to the called phone before you are connected so that the called party knows that the speaker phone is active. Also a message will be displayed on the called phone indicating what extension has called them.
When you make an intercom call to a classroom, the teacher can reply from any location in the room. This cuts the classroom interruption time down significantly!
How to get intercom service on your phone:
Intercom service has been setup on all phones that have the extension for a school's main office on them. If you want intercom service setup on any additional phone please have your Administrator, School Secretary or Principal forward the request to Telecom Support at telecom@pps.net .
Intercom User Instructions:
1. On a phone that has intercom service press the services button (it has a globe icon on it).
2. Use the navigation button to highlight Intercom and press the “Select” soft button.
