Aaron Sahlstrom - Application Development
Aaron Sahlstrom is the manager of the Application Development Team, providing development and support for PeopleSoft, Budgeting, Data Warehouse, School Choice, and numerous other applications used by staff, teachers, and students.
The Application Development Team is responsible for the design, development, integration, and deployment of mission critical systems in support of education, and to maintain and upgrade existing systems.
Prior to joining Portland Public Schools, Aaron led application development in the health insurance industry, and was responsible for enterprise systems covering millions of lives. He holds a degree in Management Information Systems from Oregon State University, and completed an international informatics program at Lund University in Sweden.
Aaron is excited that his work in technology will help support better education for youth. He spends his free time with his young son, volunteers for search and rescue emergency communications, enjoys sailing, and is a European motorcycle aficionado.
