Send and Read Messages

Unread Messages Alert

If you have unread messages from either teachers or the school, you will receive an Unread Message Alert screen when you first log in to the Parent Assistant.

To read the message you can click on Click to view teacher messages or Click to view school messages. This will appear either as a link under You have unread messages from a teacher (see #1 above) or as a button at the bottom of the list (see #2 above). To continue into Parent Assistant without reading messages right away, click the Click to continue button (see #3 above). You can read you messages later using the Messages menu.

Read School Message (Messages > School Message)

Selecting this choice will display a screen listing all messages sent to you by your child’s school.

Any message sent to all parents from the school will appear in the Message from School Details section. These messages will automatically delete on a date set by the school, so there is no further action that you can or need to take on this screen.

Read Teacher Messages (Messages > Read Teacher Messages)
Selecting this choice will display a screen listing all messages sent to you by any of your child’s teachers.

To read a message, click the Details button.

If you no longer need a message, click the Delete button.

Send Teacher Messages (Messages > Send Teacher Messages)
Selecting this choice will open screens allowing you the opportunity to send a message to any of your child’s teachers.

Locate the teacher that you wish to send a message to and click on the Send Message button. A Send Message To Teacher message box will open.

In the Message Title field, enter the Subject of your message. This should be clear and concise, as this is what the teacher will see first. In the Message field, enter the text (body) of your message. You should also include a phone number and/or an e-mail address where the teacher can reach you if needed. When you have completed your message, click the Send Message button. A confirmation screen will appear. Click the Return button on the confirmation screen to return to Parent Assistant.
