Parent User Guide

Selecting Your Child

If you have more than one child attending Portland Schools, you can see each child’s information during a single login. To view other children, simply click the drop down arrow next to where it says Student, and then click on the child’s name that you wish to view. Then click the Display button.

Log Off Parent Assistant

When you have finished reviewing information about your child, you must Log Off from Parent Assistant. To do that, click the Log Off button in the upper right corner of any page.

The system will automatically log you off after 20 minutes of no activity in Parent Assistant.

Sample Screens

Through the next few pages of this Quick Reference Guide, we will show some sample screens that you will see when you navigate through Parent Assistant. We’ll also indicate the Menu and sub-menu item you would click to get there.

Demographics (General Info > Demographics)

The demographics screen displays information on the student that the school has currently entered in the student information system. This includes Student Details, Address Details, Previous School and District Details, Immigration and Miscellaneous Details, Medical Details and Sibling Details.

Emergency Contacts (General Info > Emergency Contacts)

Selecting this choice will display a screen listing the emergency contacts on record for the student.

Click the Details button to view the Contact’s information.
