Mobile Lab Reservations & Information

All Mobile labs have been reserved through the remainder of the 2011-2012 school year. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Please keep the following in mind when reserving the Mobile labs.

It is recommended that you submit requests for these mobile labs as early as possible. In looking at historical data from previous school years, many labs booked up three or four months in advance, and with OAKS and ELPA testing, we anticipate a very high demand for these limited resources.

Checkout Policy
Due to the demand for these labs, the following conditions apply:

All requests need to be submitted to IT AT LEAST 2 WEEKS prior to requested delivery date. Priority will be granted based on the order in which request forms are RECEIVED in IT.
Lab checkout is limited to two consecutive weeks per site.
An instructor or department member will be limited to one checkout per instructional quarter.
The maximum number of laptops per site will be limited to 30 over a two week time span.
Sites must clearly identify to IT support staff the secure location the lab will be stored when not in use.
Laptop labs are designated for use at all PPS premises, however, if you have an off site location need, please contact the IT Service Desk at 503-916-3375 for additional information and requirements.
Installation of any additional software on the mobile lab computers is the responsibility of the requester. If you choose to install additional software, please remove it before returning the lab.

The labs come as complete units in one case with all necessary cables, cords and power supplies, as well as a set up and troubleshooting guide.

Notes on Use:

These labs are in high demand because many schools use them to do their OAKS testing. There may be a limited availability of these labs during peak periods of time.
It is IT’s expectation that labs will be securely stored at the end of each workday.
Data projectors no longer come with any of the laptop labs unless you check the appropriate “Yes” box on the Request Form.
Apple Laptop labs are NO LONGER available for checkout

Lab Descriptions
Hewlett Packard Lab A – 10
This lab has 10 PC laptops. It comes with wireless connectivity. The laptops have loaded: Office, Inspiration and Kidspiration, and the OAKS secure browser. Supports Vernier technology.

Hewlett PackardLab B – 10
This lab has 10 PC laptops. It comes with wireless connectivity. The laptops have loaded: Office, Inspiration and Kidspiration, and the OAKS secure browser. Supports Vernier technology.

Hewlett PackardLab C – 10
This lab has 10 PC laptops. It comes with wireless connectivity and is multimedia capable (has CD burners). The laptops have loaded: Office, Inspiration and Kidspiration, and the OAKS secure browser. Supports Vernier technology.

Hewlett PackardLab D – 10
This lab has 10 PC laptops. It comes with wireless connectivity and is multimedia capable (has CD burners). The laptops have loaded: Office, Inspiration and Kidspiration, and the OAKS secure browser. Supports Vernier technology.
