Jed Gilchrist - IT Support
Jed Gilchrist is the Manager of IT support, which includes Service Desk phone and site support staff as well as projected-related personnel. He has been with PPS since 2001, when he joined as a member of the Help Desk.
Prior to his career at PPS, Jed was a neurotoxicology researcher at OHSU as well as a freelance film and music critic for various publications including pitchforkmedia.com and Willamette Week. His love of computers brought him to technical support, and the satisfaction gained from supporting student learning made Portland Public Schools the right place for a new career.
The Service Desk provides computer software and hardware support over the phone (x63375), by email (itservicedesk@pps.net) and via on-site technical assistance Monday through Friday from 7 am to 6 pm. The Service Desk also works closely with other functional groups in IT to insure that our staff and students get the technical guidance and support they need.
