Cisco Unity Connection Voice Mail Information
- The default password/PIN for a new voice mail box is 12345.
- Your voice mail password/PIN must be at least 3 numbers long.
- The system remembers the last 3 passwords/PINs that you have used and will not let you use them when resetting your PIN.
- With the current configuration your voicemail password will not expire.
Setting up your voice mail for the first time
- Press the messages button on your Cisco phone.
- The system will access YOUR voice mail box and ask for your password.
- Enter 12345 followed by a # sign.
- Follow the system prompts.
- When the system prompts you to record your name, just say your name. It will then ask you to record a standard greeting that users will hear before leaving you a voice mail.
- You will be required to enter a new password when setting up your voice mail box.
- If your extension is not the first (top) extension on the phone you must press line button for your extension before you press the messages button.
Accessing voice mail from your phone
- Press the messages button on your Cisco phone.
- The system will access YOUR voice mail box and ask for your password.
- Enter your password followed by a # sign
- Note: If your extension is not the first (top) extension on the phone you must press line button for your extension before you press the messages button.
To get your voice mail password/PIN changed
Call the IT Service Desk at 503-916-3375 or email your request to the IT Service Desk at itservicedesk@pps.net .
If there has been a change of user assignment to the phone, we will need a request from your administrator, School's Secretary or Principal requesting that your name and voice mail be assigned to the phone.
Accessing voice mail from other phones
- Dial 63500 from a district phone or 503-916-3500 from a phone outside off the District.
- When the system answers press *. ( * = prompt for login)
- The system will then ask for your ID. This is your extension/voice mail box number.
- Enter your extension followed by the # sign.
- The system will then ask for your password.
- Enter your password followed by the # sign.
Transfer a call directly to voice mail
- While on a call Press the Transfer soft key.
- Dial # then the voice mailbox number (extension) of the person’s voice mailbox you would like to transfer to.
- Then press the Transfer Soft Key again.
