Administrator's Portal - NEW and IMPROVED

A portal is a Web-based interface that offers a single access point into a broad range of resources and services. Today, the Administrator's portal is a one-stop shop for all the links and resources you might need.  But, it's just the beginning of a larger project to create portal spaces for a wide range of staff groups including teachers, building secretaries, counselors and many more!  Please see the Administrator's Portal page for more information.

Autodialer

The Autodialer Automated Parent Notification System uses attendance data from eSIS and the EdBox Gradebook to notify parent/guardians of student absences. At the close of each school day, School Administrators receive an emailed report detailing information relative to the absences and status of the calls made to parents or guardians. PPS also subscribes to the Rapid Broadcast System for emergency and inclement weather notifications. For additional information, please visit the Autodialer resource page.

Certify

The Certify™ system notifies schools via weekly emails when certain data "rules" are broken. A simple click and login provides a list of records with errors, an explanation of the errors, along with instructions as to how to correct the data in the application.

Data Warehouse/Dashboard

This powerful resource provides PPS with a tool that enables us to be more data driven. The data warehouse seeks to collect various sets of data found in a variety of unrelated locations and formats, and pull them together into a single depository. The Dashboard component enables key stakeholders to compile, synthesize and view real time data in a easily interpretable graphic interface. For additional information, please visit the Data Warehouse/Dashboard resource page.

EdBox

The EdBox is the district’s vision of an integrated suite of teaching and learning software applications. The initial EdBox component to be rolled out is the Pinnacle Gradebook. All middle and high school teachers are using the Gradebook for 2011-12, and expansion of additional services is being planned for 2012-13.

Email Distribution Lists - Mailman

X-Server (Apple)

IT will continue the effort to upgrade and standardize elementary schools' existing technology using X-Server technology from Apple. Much like our Novel effort at our middle schools and high schools, this initiative will provide a significant upgrade to existing environments by providing a standardized computing environment for teachers and students, with enhancements that provide the ability to access files from any computer at the school. These upgrades also enable IT support staff to diagnose and fix problems remotely resulting in less downtime for computers. As the 2006-2007 school year progresses, expect to see additional elementary schools upgraded.
