Portland Public Schools maintains four job boards which serve our various employee groups. Please refer to the brief description associated with each category to access the job board that suits your employment interests. Regardless of the type of employment you are seeking, it is necessary to complete an online application and apply to specific job announcements. Certified - These are our licensed employees, such as Teachers, Counselors, Media Specialists and Substitute Teachers. Applicants need to ensure they meet appropriate State of Oregon license and endorsement requirements prior to applying to these jobs.Certified Phase 1 Eligibility for participation in Phase I, as defined by the PAT/ PPS Collective Bargaining Agreement Article 10 D5, is limited to any contract or third-year PAT bargaining unit member. This includes Child Development Specialist, Student Services Specialist, Social Worker, or Audiologist etc. All applicants should review the position announcement to ensure they meet applicable license requirements. - These employees represent the remainder of our union-represented employees. Common job categories include secretaries, substitute secretaries, clerks, bus drivers, cafeteria staff, custodians, occupational therapists, physical therapists, paraeducators and substitute paraeducators.
Management and Non-Represented - Management positions include TSPC-licensed principals, vice-principals, assistant principals, program administrators, supervisors, managers, and coordinators; whereas Non-Represented positions include specialists and certain technology positions. Athletic Coaches - Portland Public Schools maintains an alternate application process for those interested in coaching positions. Please follow this link to the Athletics Department website and applicable online application.
