Certified/Licensed Employment Process

Portland Public Schools is the largest school district in the Pacific Northwest, with approximately 47,000 students. We offer a wide range of school choices to meet the diverse learning needs of students, and to ensure each student masters the basics and achieves rigorous standards.

Certified positions include TSPC licensed teaching positions, substitute teaching (K-12), school counselors, speech pathologists etc.

Step 1: For external applicants, complete or update your Online Application. For internal applicants, please use this Online Application. (Tip: If you applied with us before, try to use the same application. If you forgot your username and password click here for instructions).

If you are highly qualified in a subject area but not licensed or endorsed by TSPC, complete this Highly Qualified form and attach it to the "Attachments" section of your application.

Next Steps:

Your application will be reviewed according to current district needs. Candidates who meet the employment criteria may be scheduled for an interview.

If the applicant is recommended for hire, he or she will be asked to provide official transcripts with degrees posted. You will not have to send the materials to Human Resources unless you offered a position or asked to provide the documents sooner.
