Sustainability Coordinators
What is a Sustainability Coordinator?
The SC at each school…
- Is the Resource and Energy Conservation Coordinator's contact person.
- Informs the school community of the recycling guidelines.
- Answers questions or directs questions to Resource Conservation staff.
- Is invited to the bi-monthly district-wide SC meetings.
- Could be a teacher, librarian, staff person, principal, part-time teacher, AmeriCorps member, or parent.

- Leading student environmental clubs or staff environmental committees.
- Completing Oregon Green School applications to get their school certified.
- Running school gardens.
- Organizing work parties to collect litter and/or maintain bioswales.
- Organizing washable tray programs.
- Starting worm bins and/or composting programs.
