Credit by Exam

Credit by Exam (CBE) is a process for ascertaining student achievement and awarding credit for a particular course which is normally offered within the student's high school, without the student having to enroll or otherwise participate in the course.

SENIORS: The deadline to test for Credit by Exam is March 30, 2012.  The deadline for health portfolios is April 30, 2012.  STAMP/SLIP tests must be taken before April 30, 2012

WHO CAN TEST?
Any student who has not previously taken the course, may test for Credit by Examination.  High School "Pass" credit is awarded to students who test out of a course.  This credit is posted on the student's transcript.  Students are allowed to test with the prior permission of their school counselor or administrator. 

GRADING
All students will receive PASS or NO PASS only.  No letter grades will be given for Credit by Exam.  A NO PASS is not recorded on the student's transcript.  Students need at least an 80% to pass.

FEES
PPS students $35.00        Free/Reduced Lunch Eligible Students $15.00          Out of District $50.00

(Note: Starting September 1, 2009 there will be a $35.00 charge for proctoring BYU tests.)
