Statement of Purpose

NOT A STANDING COMMITTEE IN 2010-2011

The mission of the Community and Student Affairs Committee is to promote strong community involvement in Portland Public Schools by ensuring transparent and effective communication with all communities throughout the school district, forging effective partnerships that support students and schools, and promoting active student participation.

Issues considered by the Committee include:

  • Family engagement
  • Community outreach and public involvement
  • Partnership development
  • Student support
  • Enrollment and transfer policies
  • Discipline policies
  • School openings, naming and closings
  • External communications
