In June 2012, the Portland School Board adopted a ten-year school facilities plan. The plan serves as an important planning document that describes the school district's facility needs for the next ten years. It includes three main components:
- Ten year student enrollment forecast
- School facility needs to support projected enrollment and financial plans to implement
- Methodology to determine school “capacity” for students at building level
The plan serves as the foundation for the current school construction bond measure and any future bonds. It describes how instruction & special programs impact facility needs and establishes priorities for maintenance and capital improvements in schools.
